Albania cuts hotel VAT rate

Albania has cut the VAT rate on hotel accommodation and services from 20% to 6%. It joins the majority of European countries which subsidise the tourism industry with reduced VAT rates.  The exceptions include Denmark and the UK.

Albania has cut its VAT rate on tourism from the standard rate of 20% to the 6% reduced rate. Most countries in Europe operate reduced VAT rates for tourism-related services, including hotel accommodation.
